Beginners’ Tip: Distressing Techniques
By Laurie Smith

Distressing elements on your page are simple and can have a huge impact on the look. Here are a few ways to distress

Instructions
1. Sanding the edges of stickers, cardstock (especially white core paper) and photos.
2. Tearing photos and cardstock- can also ink torn edges
3. Crumble paper up to really wrinkle then ink over top
4. Distress edges with edge tool
5. Ink the edges of your paper-with or with out tearing first.
Any types of ink are fine, but remember to let it dry before placing your item down on your page so the ink doesn’t smear your paper. The Distressed Ink and Chalk ink work nicely.
