Instructions
  1. Matte photo on tan and then dark pink cardstock.
  2. Assemble the Fiskars Shapeboss with the travel stencil set. Place the Fabric Texture plate underneath both stencils of the palm tree design. Slide the tan cardstock in between the two stencils with the palm tree design.
  3. Using your embossing tool, go around the edge of the trunk of the tree. Next take the large end of the embossing tool and rub back and forth on the tan cardstock until you can see a texture on the trunk. Repeat this and make three different trunks. (We’ll do the leaves later.)
  4. Remove the tan paper and trim around the tree trunk with your Fiskars micro tip scissors.
  5. Dab a cotton ball in some brown chalk and lightly brush the raised embossed designs of the palm tree trunks. This allows really brings out the texture of the design.
  6. Change your texture plate to the leaves plate. Place that under the two stencils underneath the palm tree leaves. Place one shade of the green cardstock in between the two stencils of the palm tree leaves. Emboss the design and then rub the design with your embossing tool to reveal the texture. Repeat this two more times with the other two shades of green cardstock. Remove the cardstock and trim each palm tree.
  7. Place the palm tree trunks to the left of the photo. Using adhesive, adhere the trunks and the palm tree tops to the paper.
  8. Change the stencil on the ShapeBoss to the Basic Shapes Stencil Set. Place the honeycomb texture plate underneath the two stencils under the heart shape. Place the white paper in between the two stencils and emboss a heart. Next, using your embossing tool, rub the heart design so you can see the texture revealed. Make sure you can see the texture on the entire heart. Repeat the step to create the heart three more times so you have four hearts.
  9. Change to the wavy line texture plates. Insert green cardstock in between the stencils and emboss the heart design. Just like before, first emboss the design then use the embossing tool to rub on the texture plate to reveal the design.
  10. Insert the fabric texture plate underneath the circle design. Insert the yellow cardstock in between the two stencils and emboss the circle. Use your embossing tool to rub on the circle to reveal the texture.
  11. Trim each of the hearts and the one circle so that there’s a 1/8 inch border around the design.
  12. Cut the green heart in half. These are the flower petals.
  13. Use some purple chalk around the edges of the white hearts which are the petals.
  14. Use orange chalk for the center of the flower. Adhere a piece of foam adhesive behind the yellow circle and put that in the center of your flower. Place the flower design onto the bottom right side of the picture.
  15. Finally, take the leaves texture plate and place it on the ShapeBoss – attaching it with a peg. Place some dark pink cardstock over the texture plate and emboss the texture design onto the pink paper.
  16. Place the textured dark pink paper on a cutting matte. Place the Shape Cutter Banners 1 stencil on top of the pink paper.
  17. Cut a banner out using the Shape Cutter tool.
  18. Add some sticker letters to the banner and add this title to the page.
    Some Tips:
  1. The texture plates can be secured on the ShapeBoss using the orange pegs provided.
  2. The wavy and straight line texture plates are easy to emboss – but here’s the trick. Place your paper on top of the texture plate and use your embossing tool. Feel around for a line and follow that line with the tool – emboss line by line along the cardstock. I found that rubbing the cardstock back and forth with the tool is not as effective.
  3. The shape cutter system will only cut correctly if you place the template down and can read the words on the template. If it’s on the wrong side you will not be able to cut the shapes out!
